Azhar Academy is located in what was an old church on Romford Road in Newham (East London). It consists of the actual academy a girl's school and a mosque. It is a work in progress with construction being done in a piece meal fashion when money is available for a given project. The mosque is largely a male domain with a small sister's section. The mosque is located a few blocks east of University of East London.
