Also referred to as the Regent's Park Mosque and part of the Islamic Cultural Centre, this is one of the largest and most well known mosques in the UK. Located at the edge of Regent's Park in Central London, the mosque lies on a site gifted to the Muslim community by the Churchill War Cabinet in 1940. The site remained vacant until a new design was approved and the building completed in 1977. About 6,000 worshippers can be accommodated in the main prayer hall and outdoor forecourt.
