In April 1992, Tawfiq and Salha Al-habashi founded Al-habashi Mart at the historic City Market in Kansas City, MO. The store specialized in Middle Eastern food items. Located next to Habashi House restaurant, Al-habashi Mart offers the culinary adventurous a huge variety of food products, many that only exist in the best Old World markets of Jerusalem, Damascus and Athens.
