Fredericton Islamic Association

Founded in 1995, the Fredericton Islamic Association (FIA) represents Muslims living in the communities of Fredericton, New Maryland, Oromocto, Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Gagetown, Woodstock and surrounding areas including Muslim students from across the world attending the University of New Brunswick (UNB) and St. Thomas University (STU). There are over 50 Muslim families in Fredericton and surrounding areas and, on average, a transient population of about 300-400 Muslim students. The FIA operates solely by funds provided by its membership. Currently housed in a 120 year old converted church, FIA is soliciting funds for a new purpose-built mosque in the area.
