Lima, the capital of Peru, lies on the country's arid Pacific coast. Though its colonial center is preserved, it's a bustling metropolis and one of South America’s largest cities. It's home to the Museo Larco collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museo de la Nación, tracing the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th-century cathedral are the heart of old Lima Centro. It is World Heritage Site. In the north is the city of Caral, the oldest civilization of America, and to the south is the Archaeological Complex of Pachacamac. Lima's history predates the colonial presence in the country. The establishment of the viceroyalty transformed the city into the main political and administrative center of South America. During this period, significant churches, monasteries, mansions and balconies were built. The arrival of modernity didn’t transform the historic center, which is recognized as a World Heritage Site. Museums with great works of art, archaeological sites, beaches, the boardwalk, valleys, natural reserves, the nightlife, the thrill of adventure sports, and the exquisite cuisine gives Peru’s capital an authentic personality and makes tourism in Lima a unique experience in the country.

Starting on the Peruvian coast we explore Lima, one of the colonial capitals of the Conquistadors, and learn more about the emerging Muslim community. We then take a trip into the Amazon jungle, marvelling at Allah’s creation. Finally, we hike along the last section of the fabled Inca Trail to the world famous 16th century citadel of Machu Picchu, the ancient “Lost City of the Incas.

Salam Alaikum! I am a new converted Muslim. I just moved to California with my husband from Virginia where I was born and spent my life. I know there are certain expectations of how many rakkah to do during prayer when traveling and my husband told me if you are traveling that there is a different amount you are to do. Do I qualify to do this since I am not at home? I am a beginner just learning al Fatiha. Also, what can I say instead of the whole verse of al fatiha to fulfill my prayer I know some lines but not all of it I want...
НамазI was curious if Carmine (red insect). Was haraam.
Халяль и харамGood afternoon, imam Mursalin,I am writing to hear your opinion regarding converting (reverting) to Islam. I have been thinking about making this step for a few months, but always felt like I didn't know enough or that I would find it hard to abide by all the rules. Now when Ramadan is approaching I feel especially worried about converting, as I'm not sure I'll be able to hold the fast as every Muslim should. Could you please give me your opinion on that, particularly on how new inexperienced Muslims should approach Ramadan?Thank you,
