The Italian Islamic Religious Community (COREIS) is a national of Italian Muslims association active since the early '90s with the priority of witness and protect the spiritual and intellectual heritage of Islam in the West. This approach has required over the years a diversification of religious and cultural mediation in many areas of Italian companies in order to meet the needs of worship and the Islamic community education in the broadest sense. On one million and six hundred thousand Muslims only 150,000 in Italy are Italian. The COREIS represents a first indigenous communities, among the few in Europe, which has always been open and welcoming to Muslims of any nationality and origin. In fact, he is working with many national and international Islamic associations except those who have ideological and fundamentalist tendencies. Around the Milan national headquarters, which also houses the Mosque al-Wahid, they have organized eight regional representatives in Piedmont, Veneto, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Marche and Sicily. The regional representatives work together with leading local organizations of Muslims as well as with local authorities and the Italian state institutions. The COREIS soul for over 20 years many religious events, both at its offices, and at those of other Islamic associations in Italy and internationally.
