Will we remember our friends, relatives , parents in Paradise? In the name of Allah the Beneficent the Merciful. All thanks belong to Allah the Lord of the worlds and may the Peace of Allah and His blessings be on our noble prophet Muhammad (SAW), his households, his companions and all those who follow his footsteps till the day of judgement. With regards someone remembering his friends and relatives in the paradise, there is no doubt to this fact as explained in the Qur'an and Sunnah. In many passages of the Qur'an, Allah has explained to us that the Paradise is full of things that gladden the hearts and that the people of the paradise would live as communities as we currently do on earth. Besides, everyone will remember vividly how he spends his time in the early life. People will be able to recognise their friends, relatives and companions. Even, right from the moment of resurrection, every person will be able to recognise his father, mother, wife, husband and all the people he knew on earth. As stated in Surat Abasa (80: 34-36) "On the Day a man will flee from his brother And his mother and his father And his wife and his children". Apart from that, Allah has stated clearly in the Quran that the people of Paradise will pay visit to one another, and meet one another in the Gardens of delights. There is nothing to prevent someone of a lower status in Paradise from visiting one who is above him, as also happens in this world. People of the Paradise will play and hang out together as they do on earth with limitless love and affection. Even there is an Hadith reported by Ana b. Malik where the Prophet (SAW) is quoted to have said that there is a market in the Paradise that will be open on Fridays for the people of Aljannah. The narration goes thus: In Paradise, there is a street to which the people of Paradise go every Friday. The north wind will blow and scatter fragrance on their faces and on their clothes and add to their beauty and loveliness, and then they will go back to their family after having an added luster to their beauty and loveliness, and their family will say to them: By Allah, you have been increased in beauty and loveliness after leaving us, and they will say: By Allah, you have also increased in beauty and loveliness after us. (Muslim, Kitab al-jannah 13) In Surat Saffaat, Allah provides us with a good example of the conversations that will take place among the people of the Paradise. The relevant section goes thus: 50. Then they will turn to one another and question one another. 51. One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 52. "Who used to say, 'what! art thou amongst those who bear witness to the Truth (of the Message)? 53. "'When we die and become dust and bones, shall we indeed receive rewards and punishments?'" 54. (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 55. He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 56. He said: "By Allah. thou wast little short of bringing me to perdition! 57. "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 58. "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 59. "Except our first death, and that we shall not be punished?" 60. Verily this is the supreme achievement! 61. For the like of this let all strive, who wish to strive Commenting on this matter, Ibn Katheer says: "Here, Allah, may He be exalted, tells us about the people of Paradise: they will turn to one another and ask one another about their situation, how they were in the world and what they used to suffer there? This is an example of their meeting and conversing over their drinks, whilst they are sitting on thrones, with servants around them, coming and going with delights such as food, drink, clothing and other things that no eye has seen, no ear has heard, nor has it entered the mind of man." By and large it suffices to state here that the occupants of the Paradise will recognise each other as they do in the present life,
