Hello! My name is Travonn and I was curious about the shahada. Do you HAVE to have two witnesses or can it be done alone? And also when you pray, does it have to be in Arabic or can you pray in English. I've been hearing different answers....

As Salaam Alaykum, The moment you have it in your mind that you want to accept Islam, you have already become a Muslim by heart and what remains only for you to formalise your faith. You must remember that every human being is born a Muslim. It is the parents that take their children to different directions making people become unbelievers. That is why when people accept Islam, we do not refer to them as converts. Rather, we call them reverts because they have only revert to their original faith. Therefore, when you are ready go to any Muslim brother or sister as the case may be and announce your shahaadah to him/her. Please don't wait for anyone to complete this task. A matter of this type is time sensitive as you do not know what can happen in the near future. Congratulations and welcome to the great faith of Islam. May Allan strengthen your heart and increase you in faith and knowledge. Ua alaekum as salam rahmatullahi wa baraaatuh.

Salam Alaikum! I am a new converted Muslim. I just moved to California with my husband from Virginia where I was born and spent my life. I know there are certain expectations of how many rakkah to do during prayer when traveling and my husband told me if you are traveling that there is a different amount you are to do. Do I qualify to do this since I am not at home? I am a beginner just learning al Fatiha. Also, what can I say instead of the whole verse of al fatiha to fulfill my prayer I know some lines but not all of it I want... Намаз

Good afternoon, imam Mursalin,I am writing to hear your opinion regarding converting (reverting) to Islam. I have been thinking about making this step for a few months, but always felt like I didn't know enough or that I would find it hard to abide by all the rules. Now when Ramadan is approaching I feel especially worried about converting, as I'm not sure I'll be able to hold the fast as every Muslim should. I'm appreciate for your answer Imam Ali Omar. Let me clarify the question more deeper regarding to the Surah Al-Maeda 5. I was on relation without married before, few years ago. Now I'm in relation with Muslim. we had closed relation without marriage and now I understand that it was mistake of bith of us. The question if Am I worth that man and if I can be his wife. Before him I was'n married but was in relation. and he was married and now divorced.He lives in Egypt and I'm in Russia. we want to get married and stay at Egypt.Can we get married according to Islam ? best regards.
