The most traditional custom in Kyrgyzstan – as all people — is hospitality. To meet the guest with honor, to serve him — a sign of generosity. Traditionally dear guest slaughtered lamb. A sheep is considered a symbol of earthly life, well-being. Custom treats guests with lamb meat, cutting the lamb into pieces had a deep meaning. Each part of the lamb was presented strictly to a particular person in a particular order. The host cut the meat treating every guest to dainty pieces: the pelvic bones and Shin to give honorable elders, brisket — to the son-in-law or daughter-in-law, cervical vertebra — to girls, etc. Ancient traditions and customs associated with the reception of guests, we keep to this day.
